A new school year, a new class blog

Oregon State University is on quarters, and this is our first week of class. Once again I'm teaching Language, Technology, and Culture--and once again I'm having a class blog. I've got high hopes for it, though as I learned when I used a blog for a different class, each blog follows its own course.
