apologies for formatting problems with the previous post

Hi there,
I'm sorry that when I posted my talk (see the entry below this) some of the formatting (especially paragraphing) was lost. It had looked okay when I imported the document into my post.

I guess I can take comfort knowing that few people would want to read such a long post anyway!

PS MTSU is Middle Tennessee State University outside of Nashville, TN.

Hillary,
Thanks so much for visiting my blog!

If you have time to answer, I'd love to know your thoughts about this question. In your experience, does the blogging software you use make a difference in what/how you write? I'm wondering, I guess, if differences in template availability, commenting functions, etc. influence how you write on your livejournal and blogger web logs.

Just FYI I learned recently that the developer of Livejournal lived in Portland, Oregon (just two hours from Corvallis, where I live) and that he worked for several years mowing lawns for a living. In the past year or so he sold Livejournal to a larger company--can't remember which. He has been cited as one of the first persons to make money from blogging.

Hi Hillary,
Thanks for these comments re LiveJournal. Everything that you say here makes complete sense to me. Blogging is all about ease of use, so if LiveJournal allows you to do more with less--less being less coding/technical skill--I can see the appeal.

Thanks very much for these thoughts, which confirm my own intuitions. Since I only have experience with Blogger, I didn't have anything to compare with.
